We depart from North America on an overnight flight, filled with anticipation for our journey to Cairo. Dinner and breakfast will be served aloft as we make our way to this historic city.
Upon our arrival in Cairo, Lionsgate Travel representatives warmly welcome us and assist with our transfer to the hotel. After settling in, we enjoy a delightful dinner and rest overnight, ready to begin our exploration of Egypt.
Our day begins with a hearty breakfast before setting out to explore the wonders of Cairo. We start at the majestic Giza Pyramids, marveling at the vast structures and the iconic Sphinx. The journey continues to the Egyptian Museum, where we are awestruck by the treasures of King Tutankhamen. Our exploration then leads us to the Citadel of Saladin, the stunning Alabaster Mosque, the historic Hanging Church, and the Ben Ezra Synagogue. We conclude the day by haggling for souvenirs at the bustling Khan al-Khalili bazaar before returning to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we embark on a scenic journey across the Sinai Peninsula, a land bridge between Africa and Asia. As we traverse this historic region, we appreciate the vast landscapes before arriving at the border. Entering Israel, we are greeted by our Israeli representatives and transferred to our hotel in Tel Aviv for dinner and overnight.
We begin our day with a drive along the Mediterranean coast to Caesarea, exploring the ancient Roman city built by Herod the Great. Our journey continues through the Jezreel Valley to Megiddo, the prophesied site of the last battle. We stop at Gideon’s brook and the crest of Mt. Carmel, where Elijah’s contest with the prophets of Baal took place. Crossing the Galilee region, we admire the view of Mt. Tabor and visit Deboriya before reaching Tiberias for dinner and an overnight stay.
Witnessing a serene sunrise on the Sea of Galilee, we feel a deep connection to the land where Jesus walked. After a sunrise service and breakfast, we cross the sea by boat to Capernaum, visiting the ancient synagogue where Jesus preached. We continue to the Mount of Beatitudes, Tabgha, and Caesarea Philippi, the site of Peter’s confession. Our journey takes us to Mt. Hermon and the Golan Heights, with a stop at the Jordan River for an optional Baptismal Service. We return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Departing early, we head to Cana and Nazareth, visiting the Church of the Annunciation and Mary’s Fountain. Our exploration continues to Bethshean, revealing recent Roman Era excavations. Driving south through the Jordan Valley, we reach ancient Jericho, view the Mt. of Temptation, and see Elisha’s Fountain. Filled with excitement, we journey through the Judean countryside, finally entering Jerusalem and settling into our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Today, we reach the highlight of our tour. Starting with panoramic views from Mt. Scopus and the Mount of Olives, we visit significant sites like the Chapel of the Ascension, Church of Pater Noster, and Dominus Flevit. Walking along Hosanna Road to the Garden of Gethsemane, we explore the Church of All Nations and other key sites on Mt. Zion. The day includes a visit to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust memorial, before returning to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
We head south to the Dead Sea, descending to the lowest point on Earth. Ascending Masada by cable car, we explore the ancient fortress and learn about the Jewish zealots’ last stand. Our journey continues to Ein Gedi and Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Visiting the remains of the Essenes’ Community Center, we then travel the Jericho Road to the Inn of the Good Samaritan before returning to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
Today is a day of leisure, allowing us to revisit favorite sites, stroll down Ben Yehuda Street, or relax in local cafes. We return to our hotel for a final dinner and overnight stay.
We transfer to the airport early in the morning, filled with unforgettable memories and spiritual enrichment from our journey. Our flight home marks the end of a profound adventure through Egypt and the Holy Land.
