Holy Land Cairo and Petra

Join us on an amazing 15-day tour to the Holy Land, Cairo and Petra. Visit the ancient Petra, admire the Kings Pyramids and the iconic Sphinx. Walk where Jesus walked and visit the sites where the Lord performed miracles. Get spiritually elevated while walking in the alleys of the Holy City, along the Via Dolorosa. In this trip the Bible will come alive while visiting Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Capernaum, Nazareth, Cana and many other Biblical Sites.

DAY 01

We depart North America on our overnight flight to Cairo. Dinner and breakfast will be served aloft.

CAIRO

DAY O2

Upon our arrival at the Cairo airport, we will be met by Lionsgate representatives who will assist us to our waiting bus for a short transfer to our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

CAiro

DAy 03

After a late breakfast we begin our tour of Cairo. We begin with the Giza Pyramids. Admire the three vast pyramids of the kings and the several smaller pyramids that were tombs of the queens: As you stroll the sands you will encouter the Valley Temple and the iconic Sphinx.Tour of the Egyptian Antiquities Museum, home to one of the world’s largest collections of ancient Egyptian artifacts. Marvel at the treasures of King Tutankhamen, including his golden death mask, rich jewelry, and even his sandals! Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAy 04

After breakfast we begin our tour with a visit to the Citadel of Saladin, the Alabaster Mosque. Visit the Coptic Christian Hanging Church, one of Egypt’s most famous churches built in Basilica design above the southern gate of the Roman Babylon Fortress thus making it suspended. Visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue. The Synagogue of Ben Ezra in Cairo was originally named El-Shameem Church and is situated today behind the “Hanging church. Visit Cairo Tower. Finally, we end the day at the famous Khan al-Khalili bazaar haggling for souvenirs and experiencing first-hand the culture of Egyptians in their daily lives. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 05

This morning we begin a long voyage through the Sinai Desert. Our drive takes us through miles of yellow sand perhaps trac- ing the 40-year journey of the Israelites after their exodus from Egypt. We arrive Taba in the late afternoon. This border town is known for its grand resorts along the Red Sea. Transfer to our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAy 06

After much needed rest and breakfast, a baot ride across the Red Sea takes us to Aqaba, Jordan. Enjoy a day relaxing along the beaches of Jordan’s most famous resort town. Dinner and over- night at our hotel.

PETRA

DAy 07

Today we make our way north towards Wadi Musa. We visit Petra, the Red Rose City. Established around the 6th century BC, by the Nabataean Arabs, a nomadic tribe who settled in the area and laid the foundations of a commercial empire that extended into Syria. Despite successive attempts by the Seleucid King Antigonus, the Roman Emperor Pompey and Herod the Great to bring Petra un- der the control of their respective empires, Petra remained largely in Nabataean hands until around 100 AD, when the Romans took over. The reddish- yellow stone which the Nabataeans exploited to carve their temples is delicate and can be easily crumbled into sand, but Petra remains a testament to their strength and ingenu- ity. In 2007 Petra was announced as one of the new Seven Won- ders of the World. We continue to Amman for dinner and over- night stay.

Amman/Madaba/Mt Nebo

Day 08

After breakfast we begin our tour of Amman in the Hashemite Kingdom. See the Roman amphitheater and the Amman Citadel. See Jabal al-Qala’a hill and the Temple of Hercules. Visit Rainbow Street, a more modern take on this ancient city. We continue to Madaba known for its ancient churches as well as its preserved 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land. Before we return to Amman we stop at Mt Nebo where Moses was granted a view of the Promised Land. We return to our hotel for dinner and over- night.

Tiberias/Galilee

DAy 09

After breakfast we travel to the north Jordan/Israel border where we begin our journey of the Holy Land. Upon crossing we will be greeted by our Israeli crew that will escort us to an awaiting motorcoach. We stop at Beit Shaan to visit the most recent excava- tions from the Roman times. We’ll visit Migdal, the home of Mary Magdalene and see the “Jesus Boat” at Kibbutz Nof Ginosar. We’ll then drive the plain of Ginosar to Tabgha where Jesus “multiplied the loaves and fish.” Visit Nazareth, Jesus’s boyhood home and the Church of Annunciation. Continue to Cana, the site of the early miracles. Trsnsfer to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Galilee/Caesarea Philippi/Capernaum

Day 10

There is nothing quite like witnessing a sunrise on the Sea of Galilee. Although there are many places which we must admit are traditional, you can be sure that the Lord Jesus walked down these shores. After a sunrise service andbreakfast, we cross the Sea of Galilee by boat to Capernaum to visit the ancient ruins of the synagogue where Jesus preached. We continue to the Mt. of Beatitudes the traditional site for the “Sermon on the Mount” and to Tabgha - the chapel dedicated to the multiplication of the loaves and fishes. Drive to Caesarea Philippi the site of Peter’s confes- sion; We end the day at the Jordan River, for an optional Baptismal service. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Megiddo/Caesarea/Jericho

Day 11

After breakfast we begin our tour with a visit to Megiddo, the site of 21 battles from the Old Testament and where it says in the Book of Revelation the final battle between good and evil will take place. Here we’ll also get to explore Canaanite ruins and the “Chariot Cities” of Kings Solomon and Ahab. We then visit Mount Carmel and Muhraka to witness the location of Elijah’s contest with Jezebel’s false prophets of Baal. Here we’ll be able to view the Jezreel Valley. Continue to ancient Caesarea, site of Paul and Peter’s experiences on the Mediterranean Coast. As we make our way to Jerusalem we stop in Jericho where the “walls came tumbling down”. We end the day in Jerusalem with dinner and overnight

Jerusalem/Bethlehem

Day 12

We have reached the “highlight of our tour”. We begin the day with a drive to Mt. Scopus and the Mt. of Olives for the most spectacular panoramic view of the Old City of Jerusalem. Walk along Hosanna Road to the Garden of Gethsemane to visit the Church of All Na- tions that stands on the Rock of Agony where Jesus was betrayed by Judas. We’ll then see the Temple Mount. Visit the Lions’ Gate and the Pools of Bethesda. We’ll then visit the Tower of Antonia, the Praetorium, and Pilate’s Judge- ment Hall. Here our Lord was tried by Pilate, beaten by the Roman Cohort, and took up His Cross for Calvary. The Ecce Homo begins the traditional Via Dolorosa leading to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Visit the Jewish Quar- ter. We stop at the Wailing Wall to pray. We conclude our tour of the old city with a visit to Garden Tomb for a prayer service. Visit Yad Vashem a memorial built for six million lives that perished during the Holocaust. Before we end the day, we stop in Bethlehem to visit the Church of Nativity and Shepherd’s Field. We return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

MASADA /QUMRAN

Day 13

This morning we drive up to Masada. Masada is the most important mountain in Israel’s history. Learn the incred- ible story of the Jewish Freedom Fighters who held out against the Romans in 73A.D. The story of the struggle, the excavations, and the view from the top is one unforgettable highlight of our tour. Before we leave Masada, we take some time to Swim in the Dead Sea. Drive to Ein Gedi, the oasis in the desert where David hid. Next stop at Qumran site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

Jerusalem Free Day

Day 13

Today we spend the day at leisure. Revisit favorit sites, stroll Ben Yehuda Street with its iconic streetside cafes and shops. Barter at local markets, or just relax at our hotel. We retun to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

RETURN HOME

Day 14

We depart early to the airport for our flight home filled with amazing memories from the land of the Bible.
