Holy Land and Greece Tour

Join us for a tour of a lifetime. We begin in the Holy Land where Jesus walked and visit the sites where the Lord performed miracles. Get spiritually elevated while walking in the alleys of the Holy City, along the Via Dolorosa. In this trip the Bible will come alive while visiting Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Capernaum, Nazareth, Cana and many other Biblical Sites. We continue to Greece where you will visit the Panathenaic Stadium, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Corinth Canal and much more.

USA

DAY 01

We depart North America on our overnight flight to Tel Aviv. Dinner and breakfast will be served aloft.

Tel Aviv

DAY O2

Upon our arrival into Tel Aviv, we will be met by Lionsgate representatives who will assist us to our waiting bus for a short transfer to our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

CAESAREA/MEGIDDO/MT. CARMEL

DAy 03

After breakfast, we travel by private motor coach along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea to Caesarea, where Gentiles first heard the Good News from Peter and were baptized. We’ll see the Roman Amphitheatre, harbor/palace area and aqueduct, and then journey on to Mt. Carmel, where Elijah challenged King Ahab and the prophets of Baal. Next we travel through the Jezreel Valley to Megiddo, the Armageddon Battlefield, where archaeologists have unearthed 20 levels of civilization. We continue to Haifa for a sightseeing tour including the Bahai Shrine and Persian Garden. Continue to Tiberias for our lodging along the Sea of Galilee.

CAESAREA PHILIPPI/CAPERNAUM

DAy 04

This morning we start the day with a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee. While on the boat we’ll pause for a worship service and remember the many miracles our Lord performed in this area. We’ll dock at Nof Ginossar to visit the “Jesus Boat” museum to see a boat that dates back to the time of Jesus. Then we will stop at the Primacy of Peter where Jesus commanded Peter to “Feed my sheep”. Next we’ll visit Capernaum to see the remains of an early church, the ruins of Peter’s house, and the ancient synagogue. After lunch we’ll travel through Northern Israel and view the Golan Heights while our guide explains the controversial and strategic points of this tract of land. Then we will descend to the site of Banias where springs form a source of the Jordan River. Near here Peter made his great confession that Jesus Christ was Lord! We will then stop in the Southern Golan for a scenic view of the Sea of Galilee. Then we’ll gather on the Mount of Beatitudes by the Sea of Galilee to read the Sermon on the Mount while overlooking the Jordan Valley. On the return to our hotel in Tiberias we’ll stop on the banks of the Jordan River for a baptismal service.

BEIT SHEAN/JERICHO

Day 05

This morning we will leave the Galilee area and travel south through the Jordan River Valley. Today you will see Bible prophecy come alive. We stop and visit the new excavations at Bet She’an. Here we will see the excavations of the city where the Philistines hung the bodies of Saul and Jonathan. If we are able, we will travel to Jacob’s Well, the site where Jesus encountered the woman of Samaria (John 4). After a brief worship service we’ll travel through the Jordan Valley to Jericho, one of the oldest cities in the world. If conditions permit, we will enter Jericho to see the excavations of the ancient walls, view the Mount of Temptation, and see Elijah’s Spring. We will then take a short drive to Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity, built over the cave of Christ’s birth, as well as the Shepherd’s Field and plains of Boaz. We will also see the ancient crafts of Bethlehem, dating from Crusader times. Time permitting we will visit one of the famous Bethlehem gift shops before returning to our hotel. Dinner and overnight in our hotel in Jerusalem.

MOUNT OF Olives JERUSALEM/BETHLEHEM

Day 06

Today takes you to the Mount of Olives with its outstanding views of the city. Visit the Church of Dominus Flavit, Spend time in quiet reflection and prayer as you visit the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations. View the Kidron Valley. From there you will drive south to the little town of Bethlehem with a visit to the Church of Nativity. Visit The Shepherd’s Fields and the Fields of Boaz and Ruth. Proceed to Herodian, Herod’s mountain hideaway. Return to your hotel in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight. Lunch provided.

Masada / Dead Sea / Qumeran

Day 07

This morning we head south 1300 feet below sea level to the lowest spot on Earth. We reach the mountain fortress of Masada, truly a remarkable piece of history. We’ll ascend by cable car to visit the magnificent ruins of the fortress where the Jewish zealots made the last stand of the Judean revolt against Rome. Today the remains of Herod’s buildings, palaces, storehouses, cisterns, and a 6th Century Byzantine church are still in view. After our exciting tour f Masada we will drive north along the shores of the Dead Sea to Ein Gedi, a green oasis in the middle of the desert, and see the area where David hid while fleeing from King Saul. Afterwards we will travel to Qumran to see the caves where they hid some of the Dead Sea Scrolls. We return to Jerusalem for dinner and an overnight stay.

Athens

Day 08

Our expert guides will take you to see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896 (short stop). Continue and pass by the Prime Minister’s residence (ex Royal Palace) guarded by the Eu- zones in their colorful uniform, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, the Constitution Square (Syntagma). On the Acropolis visit the Architectural Masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: The Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and finally “the harmony between material and spirit”, the monument that “puts order in the mind”, the Parthenon. Return to our hotel in Athens for dinner and an overnight stay.

ATHENS/CORINTH

Day 09

Leave by the coastal road to the Corinth Canal (short stop). Drive on and visit the Theatre of Epidauros, famous for its remarkable acoustics. Then proceed to the town of Nauplion (short photo stop), drive on to Mycenae and visit the Archaeological Site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. We depart for Olympia through Central Peloponnese and the towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis. Overnight in Olympia, the cradle of the Olympic Games.

NAUPLION/ATHENS

Day 10

Depart Tel Aviv for Istanbul. Upon arrival, visit the historical highlights of Istanbul, formerly known as Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine Empire. Stroll through Hippodrome Square, the social and sporting center of Constantinople which hosted chariot races during the Roman period. Witness the incredible majesty and splendor of the Sultan Ahmet Mosque. Popularly known as the Blue Mosque, this 17th-century Ottoman sanctuary is adorned with six minarets and more than 20,000 hand-painted Iznik tiles. Experience the Hagia Sophia, a breathtaking architectural masterpiece, designed to be the major basilica of the Byzantine Empire. Next, visit Topkapi Palace, the main residence and headquarters of the Ottoman sultans. Located on the very cape of the peninsula where Constantinople was founded, Topkapi Palace still houses a legion of treasures to be admired, including an extensive collection of royal jewels. Dinner and overnight in Istanbul.
